My name is Ben Bloodworth, and I am a graphic design major from Auburn University's College of Achitecture, Design and Contruction. I graduated in May 2009 and have returned to Auburn to pursue a Master's degree in industrial design. I enjoy many areas of design and art, but my favorites are identity development, product design, and web design.
Designing identities is such a rewarding practice. In essence, it is giving a company, institution, or individual a visual face with which they can represent their ideals, missions, and purpose. Since this "visual face" is so important to public recognition, I do not take the development of identities lightly, and each mark I make is a personal, well-developed, concept that strives to be the summation of the client's being.
In addition to the development of an identity, web design gives clients an interactive, online identity that can range anywhere from from a single contact information page to a fully-developed online store. In a digital-mobile era, websites are essential tools that help boost business, promote identity, and provide individuals with a larger sense of interconnectedness. For me personally, websites are a thrill to design as they are more accepting to manipulation than printed design and provide viewers with an enhanced level of interaction that is only possible in the digital realm.
I am currently studying product design and will graduate with a second bachelor's degree in May 2011.
